High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.

Our students engage with  HPGE education in the classroom, in our school, and across NSW.

In our classroom
  • Analysing assessment data to monitor and adapt teaching and learning.
  • Use of evidence-informed teaching practices (such as Zone of Proximal Development, Explicit Teaching and Cognitive Load Theory), with opportunities to challenge and extend students.
  • Explicit teaching to promote higher-order thinking and problem-solving.
  • Safe, orderly and supportive learning environments with a student-centred approach to learning.
  • Student learning goals, which are monitored, adjusted and re-set as needed.
