This does not just refer to being a good sport, it also means to live life well ….. be the best you can be in everything that you do…. in education, work, family and friendship. This is no easy task, but this is the ethos that Hanwood Public students are encouraged to understand, embrace and live by.
Hanwood Public School, Griffith's oldest school first opening in 1913. It has a strong sense of history and civic pride, and enjoys active community support.
The school's enhancing qualities include: its manageable size of around 270 students; a focus on student welfare and environment; consistently pleasing academic achievement; caring, well adjusted student population; initiatives in multicultural education, perceptual motor programs and technology.
